HHF’s Most Exciting Fundraiser Yet!

Event Overview

On October 30th Hope for the Homeless Foundation hosted its annual gala at Miller Hall in the World Forestry Center.  We had a record turnout of 185 guests — and together we raised $176,000, a 38% increase over last year. The room was filled with energy, generosity, and genuine hope.  The photo below captures just a glimpse of the excitement in the room.

Our Progress at a Glance

Since our inception, Hope for the Homeless Foundation has awarded four Champions Fund grants each year, one-time financial awards to new nonprofits demonstrating measurable success in helping people transition from homelessness to stability.

In 2023, we added our Evergreen Fund which provides ongoing annual support to past Champions Fund recipients that maintain or improve their outcomes. We began with two, $25,000 Evergreen Fund grants in 2023, increased to three in 2024, and this year awarded seven — for a total of eleven financial grants this year alone. Our goal is to exceed ten Evergreen Fund grants in 2026.

2025 Champions Fund Recipients

During the gala, we introduced four outstanding organizations—each featured in a three-minute video. You can watch them here:

Community of Hope (CityTeam)
Men’s LifeChange Program (Union Gospel Mission)
Doug’s Talk: “Holistic Recovery Programs Work!”
Moxie Transitional Housing Program (New Avenues for Youth)
The Harbor New Life Program (Portland Rescue Mission)

After viewing the videos and reviewing their vetting numbers, attendees voted for their favorite. Moxie Transitional Housing Program received the most votes, earning $50,000, while the other three organizations each received $25,000.

Our donors past generosity have been essential to making all this possible. Thank you for your ongoing partnership and belief in what we’re building together — hope that lasts.
